Timber panelling has had somewhat of a rebirth recently; a design component previously admired in grade-listed buildings is now well-utilised in hospitality projects the world over.
Ever ahead of the curve, hotel specifiers often play with materiality and form to infuse elements of old-world opulence into schemes fit for the contemporary traveller. The result being honey-hued spa cocoons in Washington DC and 1930s-inspired lobbies in the Netherlands’ canal capital.
