CARRIAGES
FIVE ON FRIDAY
Checking into a luxury suite after a hectic day of air travel will never fall out of favour, often providing some much-needed visual distance from the quotidian lives of guests, including that of their daily commute. However, with holidaymakers exploring every avenue to curate unique and offbeat travel experiences, the hospitality industry has, in turn, shifted to accommodate.
Five on Friday pays a flying visit to a handful of designers that renovate train carriages, disused wagons and recycled mobile homes for the luxury hotel sector. Although small in scale, these unconventional stays are surrounded by the world’s most coveted vistas, giving guests the opportunity to connect with nature whilst basking in the novelty of transport-themed lodgings.
